This is a prayer/poem I wrote from the perspective of my three year old. We read it everyday to protect our marine! I love you and miss you, her daddy, our hero, our marine!
My One Request
God, we need to talk, just you and me,
a one on one unlike any talk we have had before.
It's about my Dad, he needs your help,
because there's a chance he may come knocking at your door.
You see my dad is no ordinary dad.
He doesn't use a scalpel, or wear a fancy suit. No you see my dad is a hero, the kind that wears combat boots.
Yes he spits, smokes, and carries a gun, but those should be overlooked because my daddy is the one that fights for our freedom.
This is the reason we need to talk because. is being sent over sea, and all I want is for you to bring him back to me.
You see God I'm only three and have yet to live my life, but I need my daddy to be there for me, and so does everyone else in my life.
I know you are busy Lord, but please grant my one request, keep him safe God, please that's all I ask, I'll do anything you can even put me to the test.
I'll keep my room clean, ill be super nice to mom-
Oh mom, wait God you have to help my mom.
Maybe I have two requests, I'm sorry if I'm being greedy, but she really needs you too, please God I only ask these two.
Help her not worry everyday, or think she said her last goodbye. But mainly God help keep the tears from her eyes.
Maybe I'm asking a little much I hope its not a bother, Just please lord, let me keep my father.
I have a few more favors, I'll just get them out and let you be, just protect my daddy god, my hero, my marine.
Give him strength, when he is weak
Give him hope when he is low,
Give him courage when he is scared
Give him warmth when he is cold,
Give him comfort when he is alone,
But most importantly God, just bring him safely home!
Amen

I'll second that prayer! I seem to be having problems with a blurry computer screen, while reading it.
