Separation pay

Posted on September 18, 2014 at 10:48am 12 Comments

Four years ago I joined this website and it was a Godsend! My son was officially Honorably Discharged last week. I am so proud. However, he did not receive his final pay on the 15th. He was told it could take weeks or months. He also started college four weeks ago and is not sure when he will receive his BHA or funds for books. He is struggling right now (we are helping as best we can). Anybody have any knowledge on this. Greatly appreciated!!! And thank you to the moderators and members for…

Well, the wedding went off without a hitch.  It was a lovely day, the sun shined softly, the wind quieted as the bride walked down the aisle.  I have never seen my son smile like that with the exception of his graduation from boot camp.  The mother-son dance was to Rod Stewart's "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You."  I sobbed tears of joy and pride.  Oh, we provided two bottles of wine at each table, champagne for the toast and had a cash bar.  Everyone was just fine with that.  Thanks…

Wedding Receptions on Base

Posted on January 29, 2012 at 10:17am 8 Comments

I have a question.  My son is getting married at Camp Pendleton.  The venue is a golf course club and we are concerned about the liability of the guests regarding the alcohol.  Of course we would like to provide some alcoholic beverages for the guests but how much, how can we be sure they do not drink too much and drive off base, do we set limits, use tickets, etc.  Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Tooproud - I sent you an MFN "friend" request so that we could talk more easily.  Once you accept it, I can send you an MFN email without all the character limitations.  Look for an invite in the top section on the right hand side of the page where you see your Inbox.
