Aw, Michelle :(  Even though I am trying to give you words of encouragement, I know I would be the exact same way.  As you said, a mother's guilt....nobody understands it, but us moms.  I hope as the days go on and then once you receive your first letter from him, that will help to heal you a little.

Hi Michelle!  Just checking in with you to see how you're doing.  I just can't stop thinking about you and your story, even though we don't know each other...yet! ;)  My heart aches for you.  As I said, your son wouldn't want you to beat yourself up over this.  I think our sons/daughters fully understand that we have no idea when those far and few between calls are coming and know we cannot always be on stand by 24 hours a day, as much as we would like to be. Hang in there!  I keep hearing that these first 2 weeks are the hardest.  I hope it's true, because this is tough!!

Welcome to MFN, michelle.  We’re happy to see you!   Enjoy exploring our message board home on MFN.

Here are a couple of links to main message board groups to help you get started – the Boot Camp/Poolee board has general topics and a group for every graduation date where you can meet others who have a Recruit with yours:

http://marinefamilynetwork.com/page/recruit-bootcamp

And your state:

http://marinefamilynetwork.com/page/states-territories

To post in any topic/discussion you need to "Join the group" - there's a link in the top cream bar, to the right near your username and the log-out spot.  Click to 'join' the group.

All of our message board categories fall under the heading of the GROUPS tab at the top of the page or look for “GROUP CATEGORIES” along the right side about ¼ of the way down.

All of our informational pages for Boot Camp are at www.RecruitParents.com  Click on any topic from the left menu to learn more.

Please look for a welcome email from Marine Family Network, checking your bulk/spam folder if necessary.  If you did not receive it please comment back to me on my profile page and I’ll send it to you… and if you've any questions, don't hesitate to comment back to me.

My best to you and yours,
