Marine Mom in need

Posted on June 29, 2013 at 1:00am 3 Comments

Coming from a family of Marines and being a Marine myself I was so happy when my son joined the Corps. I knew that some of the teachings he aquired on the outside would help him through his time as a marine and the Corps would build on the principles he was raised with. Lately our son has been doing things that have just floored me and I don't know what to think. He has quit going to church, his bank account is never…

draginon, you responded just right to Mair's post.... The tears come fast a furious.. even for us Dad's..!!!  LOL!!!  Got to see our MARINE on the Wednesday afternoon before "Family Day".. By accident really... Went on base to go to visitors center and sign the guest register for his platoon.. The companies were on the Parade Deck in cami's practicing for grad... so my other 3 kids made me park and get out of the car so we could watch... Could not talk to him , but one son picked him right out of the crowd, and without a single word , this Dad was quietly ballin' like a friggin' baby. LOL!!! And I'm still not embarrassed to say that I was!!  LOL!!!

Hi draginon,

Great idea:). maybe umbrellas for the row of seats below mine:):)!  Have you made the little doll of your sons roomie yet:)?  I would be dying to meet that wack job:):)!  Marines will be Marines even if it scares the H- - -L out of parents.   They are still kids inside, no excuse of course.  I would be fuming!  I am very happy to hear your son is alright.   By the way, I do not remember saying thank you to you for your service, so THANK YOU!

God Bless an Semper Fi.

Hi dragion,

Just stopping by to say hi.  Hope the problrms you blogged abouit have been resolved.  I have been thinking about how difficult it is for Moms (even Marine Corp Moms) to keep a level head where their children are concerned.  I am a Grandmom, raised the boyo in boot camp right now and some times I feel so frustrated by my inability to see, hear and be around him.  Honey is a Marine (68/71) and of course has a very "cool" attitude , you know...let him grow up, he is a man now...Dad stuff (God Bless them:)  Dads love is different for sure.

Bottom line is you are a Mom first and a Marine second :) yes I am ducking:) my two "children" are , son 43, daughter38 and I still love that they occasionally ask Mom what can they do, even if they don't take whatever advice I can give them.  I know we just have to trust that God has them in his hands and all will turn out well in the end.  All of us have gone through rough times I need not tell you and look how fine we all turned out. :)  As I said earlier, hang in there.  God Bless and Semper Fi!
