Congratulations on the birth of your little guy!  He is adorable!

I know how hard it was for me to say goodbye to my son again ... I really haven't stopped crying - It was much harder for me this time - not knowing when we'll be able to see him again.  I can't imagine having a new son who also has to say goodbye.  You'll do fine.  Maybe you can skype him?  Of course I'm sure you'll keep a journal of all the "firsts".  I know I did with both my boys.  I think they are allowed more "outside" stuff than they were in bootcamp.  But I know you'll send tons of pics. Wish I were on Oahu - I'd love to help out with a new baby.  But that's what family is for, yes?

As far as we know Michael's MOS is anywhere from 6 months to a year.  We really don't know for sure - like you said ... we wait again for answers.  We don't even know for sure if his wife will be able to join him.  Wait and see ...  Wait and see ...  But he did take his cell phone (actually mine) with him and hopefully he'll be able to use it and will send good news our way.

OMG!!! He is absolutely adorable!  Of course he had to have a camie beanie - and how awesome your bf was there to give it to him.  He looks like he has a lot of hair under that beanie, yes?   I know how hard it must have been to say goodbye to your bf AGAIN.  Are we allowed to call our Marines by name now?   Do you have family that lives close to help out?  I still can't believe Oliver was born on the same day as my son was married....  It was a great day!   I guess the closer it gets to the end of MCT the more we will know whether or not they get time off before they go onto MOS.  My son is headed to Pensacola Florida for MOS.  Let's stay in touch.

Hi Danelisco.  I heard on the message board that Oliver arrived on June 28th!!  That is the same day that my son was married!  How about that???  First they were sworn in together on Oahu, then "airplane buddies" from Oahu to San Diego, then in the same Platoon and now your bf became a father the same day my son became a husband.  That is one heck of a connection.  I am so happy for you and wish you and your family all the best.  The fact that your bf was their for Oliver's birth and then got to spend time with you and his newborn son before leaving - what could be better.  Wishing you all the happiness and enjoy your little boy.  Time goes fast!
