Thanks for the info! So glad it was worth it for you and your family.  It didn't sound too promising when you first got there! We were planning on going down there the weekend before graduation but my son now says they don't have that weekend off.  I will forward the info to him about his sergeant making the decisions for his group and make sure he asks him.  We can go for graduation weekend too but he doesn't even know who he is hooking up with for his PDS yet.  I'm hoping he will know soon.  He asked me what I knew because all the guys in his platoon were asking him to ask me!  (they know I get alot of info from MFN) No one seems to know anything yet.  Thanks for telling us all about it!  It sure helps to have recommendations from others that have gone through this! ~Nancy

Hi Marinema*ch!

I read your post on Graduation and noticed you were from our area.  We're in Honeoye Falls. We are planning on going down to visit our son when he graduates IBT on Feb 17th.  We are considering going the weekend before graduation since we have no idea yet where he his PDS is going to be and how long he can spend with us.   But are not sure yet.  Our son is a rifleman.  I am wondering when he will find out what company he will be assigned to.  When did your son find out?  Well, it's always good talking to local Marine Families.  Good luck on your trip down!
