"Hi Taz! Just checking in to see how you're doing? Have you had any more contact with your son? I think it must be helpful (as 2Toes as talked about) to have their Matrix so that you can follow along with what they're doing! Take care and…"

"Do you know if the recruits get to make any other phone calls in boot camp besides the one that notifies me of their arrival? My son is on his 4 th week and I've only gotten one letter so far."

Welcome aboard Taz. I see that your Rct .is in week 5, That is the start of Phase 2, where they learn to shoot, read maps and do field stuff, like sleeping out & how to conduct raids. They also learn about first aid.

As to phone calls, there may be another one along about week 10 to discuss travel arrangements. To help your Rct. have you thought about sending a questionaire? Something short answer or multiple choice? Becuse they only get about a hour of free time per night and they have a lot to do, some rcts. can find writing overwhelming. So giving them a questionaire, a self addressed stamped envelop (SASE), can greatly enhance your chances of getting a reply. We have questionaires here,

http://marinefamilynetwork.com/group/bccomm/forum/topics/questionnaire-for-phase-ii

http://marinefamilynetwork.com/group/bccomm/forum/topics/questionnaire-for-phase-iii

Or you can make your own.
