Marine Wife!

I've been a Marine wife for 8+ years.  My husband is a SSgt with 11 years in.  We have three handsome sons.  My husband has been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.  In our almost 9 years of marriage we have lived at Camp Lejeune, Okinawa Japan, Nashville TN for recruiting duty and currently back at Camp Lejeune but headed to MCLB ALbany soon. I am graduating this year with a bachelor's in psychology, I'm a stay at home mom and work from home as a transcriptionist. I love being part of the Marine Corps family despite the hardships.

Oh cool, so you don't have to go too far... Honestly, I don't know what unit he's with. We haven't had a lot of time to talk lately and it's always extremely loud on his end so I asked him not to tell me anything crucial until I can actually hear what he's saying, haha.

Hi Maggie,  Every once in awhile I 'catch' one of your posts and smile to myself, happy that you visit when you can...

...saw this one today and thought, if you have the time one day this week, it's right up your alley:

Looked through your photos - see some new ones since last I was 'here'.  Your boys - each one cuter than the other!

Maggie, I'm so glad that you can pop in now and then.  All of us know how much wisdom you have to impart.  Your family (and what a beautiful family you have!) sure does come first.  With all that you have going, it's always great to see you here!  Warmly, Sandy

Another 4 years!

Posted on March 19, 2012 at 10:01am 8 Comments

This past week my husband reenlisted once again.  This enlistment will take him from 11 to 15 years in the Corps, which means there may only be one reenlistment left!  I can't believe how much time has flown.  We have been married for all of his re-enlistments but this one is the only one I have gone to.  They had a nice short and sweet ceremony and even escorted me to the front and presented me with a certificate.  I have to say, I got very sentimental.  Knowing and being in love with this…

Marine Corps Tradition

Sometimes as a Marine Corps wife, you wonder, when do I get a night off?  And as all Marine Corps wives know, your one guarenteed night off a year is the Marine Corps Birthday Ball.  Every birthday ball is different.  Some serve an appetizer, some serve chicken and/or steak, some are open bar and some cash bar, some are held in town while others are out of town.  But there are also things that do not change, that is every one in their best dressed, every one exchanging "Happy Birthdays", the…

Homecoming

Posted on December 1, 2011 at 2:30pm 6 Comments

October 5, 2011 was an amazing day for our family.  Homecoming.  Its one word that brings a flood of emotions among hundreds of thousands.  Its a time to reflect, its a time to be joyous, its a time to be thankful.  Its also a time filled with anxiety, nervousness, and apprehension.  While this wasn't our first homecoming it was our most special to date, it was the first deployment since we have had any of our three children.  It was 7 months of three sons missing their daddy desperately and…

Coming Home to Something Special

Posted on September 18, 2011 at 9:47am 5 Comments

So my husband will be home from his 7 month deployment very soon.  Gosh, we have missed him so much.  He has missed a lot, especially with our third child who was only 3 weeks old when Daddy left.  In the time he has been gone, the baby has reached a lot of milestones, our oldest son started kindergarden, our middle son has needed a little help and reassurance through therapy, I traveled to a coagulation specialist to address my blood issues, got to finish daily injections and coagulation… Continue
