"School is 9 or 10 weeks depending on how many legal holidays occur. Waiting time varies widely. My marine graduated MCT on July 2nd but didn't start till Aug 23rd but like I said it depends."

"This is an MOS group, we've been through boot camp and MCT already. My marine will be at Camp P. They found out about a week or so ago and his class graduates end of Oct."

"Hi marinefan10. Half sounds like a lot. Of those is there any idea of how many did NOT get their first choice? My son is there now and that must be why he thinks "everyone" is going to Okinawa."

"Thanks for the info. And ditto about FLW. My son says it's ridiculous about the drinking that forces the lock downs. Especially the underage marines, male and female. Encouraging they are allowed to explore Okinawa. From what he's heard so…"

"We've heard awful things about Okinawa, locked down most of the time due to a few bad apples, hostility (justified) from the townspeople, etc, etc.  Last year they withdrew 9,000 marines to appease the Japanese govt, so not sure why they…"
