I am an emotional mess, and I'm not ashamed to admit it to anyone, except my poolie. His high school graduation is in 6 days. When his older sister graduated we were crazy busy between planning the reception, all the events for the seniors, and all the little things we kept remembering to add to our list. My poolie on the other hand is only having a reception because I insisted so family and friends can gather to celebrate him. He doesn't want a see you later party before he leaves for boot,…

School has started, which means work has started (I am a resource para) and it has been crazy busy at home. Bud seems to have realized that senior year is something he will have to actually go through, as no amount of talking to the guidance counselor seems to change the "no early graduation" rule. :) I have begun cataloging the "last firsts" of everything, which I did for his older sister before she graduated, but it seems to hit me harder knowing that after graduation we won't have the summer… Continue

Feeling silly for being so sappy today...

We signed the DEP papers for my son July 9th, and while it was a little surreal, I thought I handled it well. He has been going to PT (he says it's Warrior Night, not PT) every Thursday, ok, that's a good thing. Conversations with him lately consist of discussions on MOS, how ready he is for Senior year to be over, and how he feels like he has been waiting forever for this (he was 8 when he first told me he was going to be a Marine someday). He left today for MEPS and his "official" swearing…
