I need advice for what I should do...

Hello All,My Marine and I broke up almost 2 years ago this summer...It's been a year since we last corresponded--him angry as hell at me for God knows what, and me confused and broken and wanting to help, but to no avail.I recently made a visit to the Veteran's Affairs Hospital so that I could restart my volunteering there in the Spinal Cord Injury Unit but when I left, my mind was flooded with memories of the Marine I loved along with the feelings of helplessness, confusion and pain.I know I…See More

"I agree with what's written below. This isn't your fault. Your ex is a cog in a large military system that really has nothing to do with you, even though it says it's there to keep you safe. And unfortunately for the most part that…"

MusicRoxMySox replied to Alicia's discussion Does this sound like PTSD? in the group PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
"This is a lot like the behavior my brother's exhibiting after two tours to Afghanistan. His behavior is out-right odd and kind of spooky. You're not alone. I'm equally confused. Thanks everyone for the advice."

"Well you can get checked for that, but also know that breathlessness is a symptom of anxiety! If I were you, I would go see a doctor on Monday. It doesn't sound like anything serious to worry about since this has only happened when your Marine…"

"Do you have a history of high blood pressure in your family? Perhaps the stress of being separated is increasing your blood pressure and causing your breathlessness? You seem young, and your symptoms do not seem like those of a heart attack."

Alicia replied to Miranda's discussion I really need help. I am getting alittle scared. in the group For Wives, Fianceés and Girlfriends of Marines
"Based on your history with this problem, it sounds like it could just be a reaction to stress. I started to realize that when I'm stressed out, I start to break out in hives, and my health begins to deteriorate. These are strange reactions that…"

Feeling very alone right now

Looking back on everything, I feel so guilty. I feel like if I had been a better girlfriend, I would have been able to help him. From the beginning of our relationship, I worried about some of his behavior but I always brushed off the idea of PTSD even though he's been to Iraq two times. I just thought that PTSD was more obvious and that, if he had it, someone in the Corps would have told him by now. There were times when he made me so mad because he did things and said things that I didn't…See More
