An Outreach Program of MarineParents.com
That mean that I'm a volunteer at Marine Parents.com. Presently, my job is a Message Board Moderator. I am here to assist and serve you throughout your journey with your Marine. This remarkable life experience will have many highs and possibly a few lows. I am here to answer questions, direct and support you the best way I can. I am always open to any questions, thoughts, and 'Wow' moments you would like to share. I am excited to share this extraordinary journey with you.
I am truly blessed! I have in my life my wonderful husband of 20+ years, who is my best friend and the one who makes me laugh and smile. I am also the proud 'Mama' of three incredible sons, my oldest son who, in a little less than a year, will have his PhD in sociology, my second son who is the graphics art director for a non-for-profit in NYC, and my youngest, my Marine.
My DH and I live with our two pups, Ella and Moose who keep us at their beck and call! I work full-time as a certified medical assistant in a busy family practice and spend my free time (what's that?) reading, card making and reading!
A year ago today my DH and I drove our youngest son, Patrick, to the recruiter's office for his journey to PI. His ship date was 12/08/2013. Initially, he was to leave 02/2014. However, a spot opened up and the recruiter asked Patrick if he wanted to go ~ he said yes. So, instead of getting the 3 months I expected.. I had 4 days to wrap my head around the idea of him leaving (he received the call the Wednesday before the Sunday he was to go).
All of a sudden…
