@jacarmn

a new MCT class starts each week, so most class up right away. IF how ever there would be more new Marines reporting than there are slots available they would most likely class up the next week. MCT is 29 days from pickup(class up) to graduation.

Just out of curiosity.... after boot, how long does it take for the recruit to "class up" before MCT starts??? Also, how long is MCT?

If your Marine reported yesterday, 12/2 he may be with Kilo Co.
http://marinefamilynetwork.com/group/soiemct/forum/topics/mct-east-...

Upon arrival to MCT, if your Marine is picking up to begin training on the day of reporting, they do usually get a few moments of phone use before the phones are collected. Checking in and being assigned gear takes up a lot of time the first few days so if you don't hear from your Marine right away, this could be the reason.
When the phone calls stop or you no longer have communication with your Marine, it would be a good indication they have picked up to begin training.

Best wishes to your Marine!

It is time dear Marine family and friends, AND to those that have gone before.  As the Tradition Began with WD, A Marine Family Parent, just like You and Me, and US. WE HAVE A CLASS that are to Begin the Crucible, that 54 Hour Test that Defines a Marine.  As they March into Those Woods, it is up to each of US, To Light a Candle, for it is the single flame within the night that defeats doubt, conquers concern, and brings them back to us....as Marines. During these Next 2 Nights, remember OUR PEOPLE2nd Bat. Golf Co., 4th Bat. Papa Co.,  and Extra Steppers, Graduation 11/21/2014, Parris Island…

For this night, our fine Young People, at 0200 do begin... and WE, Very Proud Marine Parents, Aunts & Uncles, Grandparents, Wives, Husbands, Siblings, Children, and Loved Ones, Together, In Unison, can voice uplifting words for Our Marines in these Troubled Times and in our Troubled World, that they may find

  • God’s Grace and Esprit de Corps

  • Strong Will and Fierce Determination

  • Strength, Health, Honor and Courage

  • And always, always Good Luck

For it is that Light that comes, on the Dawn of that Third Day, taking that final hump back to the Prize for all that is.....that Shines over New Marines.

For Courage is endurance for one moment more …Unknown Marine Second Lieutenant in Vietnam.

You cannot exaggerate about the Marines. They are convinced to the point of arrogance, that they are the most ferocious fighters on earth – and the amusing thing about it is that they are. …Father Kevin Kearney, 1st Marine Division Chaplain, Korean War

Keri:  I looked again and do see Nov 18 on the list - class 6-15 India.

Unless he has RA, he would only get 10 days leave. Orders will state the date to return to SOI.

... wishful thinking :)
