Student Liberty hours are 1:30pm to 8:00pm Sunday (TD-26) and 3:30pm to 8:00pm Monday (TD-27) prior to graduation.

What time does Liberty Sunday start today?

The Marine Corps certainly helps us to be flexible. :)

We talked last night and he said that he has "green" liberty (overnight off base) if a parent can sign for him. He's still at Camp LeJeune in the holding platoon (Lima) but that may change when he gets to Pensacola in a few weeks (hopefully a few weeks). I made a reservation at a hotel in Jacksonville, NC that I can cancel just in case the word changes in the next few days. Already learning the Marine way of life can change in a moment. . .!!

You might read through some of the previous discussions in the Field 62 forum.

Definitely check if your Marine has liberty. I read in one of the Pensacola groups where Junior Marines may not get liberty right away when they first arrive or may be restricted. Your Marine will know more once he arrives.

Yes, with their phones in hand the letters are a thing of the past but doesn't mean can't write. So go ahead. :)

Thanks, Keri! This website is perfect! You have been so helpful along the way -- I so appreciate it. I recently started volunteering with through their Facebook page, and I tell all the brand new recruit parents when I post how incredibly helpful this forum has been and continues to be for me. I miss my son; it helps that he has his phone back now and can text or call at night (though I must admit that I miss his letters!) but it's still a lonely feeling sometimes. The uncertainty of not knowing where he will be or for how long is odd at times. And planning certainly is a whole new challenge! Liberty is a new concept to him and I just envision us driving 8 1/2 to 9 hours (with new dog in tow) and then finding out that he actually does not get liberty! Oh well, I try not to think this way most of the time and "borrow trouble." So, I hope you do realize how helpful you are -- I appreciate you!

Sounds awesome Karen!! What a way to wait and liberty too! Even if you only just 'hang out' with your Marine, any moment is cherished time. :)

For the Lejeune area check the MCCS web site for places to eat.

My son graduated MCT yesterday and is in Lima Co now waiting to go to Pensacola for MOS 6251 (aviation). He was given duty with the Camera Corps until he leaves for FL which should be in about two to three weeks. He called tonight and said he can get off base and overnight liberty over Easter weekend if a parent signs him out, but he can't go more than 40 miles from base. I'm going down for the weekend since he can get leave. Anyone have any ideas for things to do, good restaurants, etc. I imagine he just wants some good food and time to hang out but thought I would ask for ideas if anyone has been to to Camp Geiger/Camp LeJeune area.

March is National Reading Month!

The EGA Shop is reducing inventory, so a lot of books are on clearance. Now is the time to shop... :)
