When will Alpha Company SOI pick up Marines from Lima to start SOI next?

Michele, you might try this 03xx group. http://marinefamilynetwork.com/group/mos03

There's on ongoing discussion on SF (Security Forces) training. Although some comments are older, it's still good information to learn.

Thanks for the links, so helpful!
I know how you feel gamom, my son told me not to come too and I felt so bad all day Thursday but We decided it's better to wait until we have more time together.

Hi Keri-no I didn't find my next group yet. My son didn't give me much information this time. He said he was going to Chesapeake Bay but that was all he knew. I haven't talked to him since he left but he's really good about calling or texting us so I hope I will hear from him this weekend. We didn't go to graduation because like you said it was really fast in fact he only got 2 hours liberty the day before and he left right after graduation. We live far away but we are making plans to visit him in October.

There is no need to feel guilty if you are unable to attend this graduation.

Most families who do attend live fairly close or have the funds to travel the distance to graduation. Graduations are short. It is a much shorter ceremony than what you experienced at the boot graduation and not as grand. (Marines are in cammies and leave soon after graduation for their next MOS assignment). If you live within a few hours from base I'd encourage you to attend. Because it is short and you have very limited time with your Marine, many families who live farther away opt not to attend. Instead they save the expense and instead visit their Marine at their MOS school or PDS where they will have more time together.

Best wishes and prayers for your Marines throughout his training,

Do many parents go to the graduation from SOI training? My son said not to make the trip but I don't want to miss any of his accomplishments since they all deserve our support and encouragement.

Congrats to your Marine Michele!! Have you found your next groups, the PDS groups and the Units groups?

Hopefully with his accrued leave time there will be a visit in the near future.

My son graduated from Camp Geiger today. On to the next location, further away and I miss him still so much.
