Linda the simple answer is the are to take EVERYTHING issued to them at boot camp. Everything means the boot camp glasses if they were issued. Any missing items may have to be replaced before they are allowed to start training.

As for personal items other than a cell phone all other items should remain at home and can be sent to them once they reach thier next assignment. There is little spacce to store personal items and they spend most of their time away from the barracks. As much as we would like to think all Marines are honorable items get stolen. Laptops and/or tablets should remain home. Cell phones should be clearly identifiable and don't forget the charger.

Jerry thank you for posting that.  Does anyone have any tips on useful things to pack that they are allowed to have? Is it the same as boot camp as far as what they can have. I got the impression it is the same living environment. I guess I'm asking how similar to boot camp ITB training is. Also when they graduate, do they go straight to their school? I also got the impression this graduation is not one that many families attend.  Since I am not very good with all the terminology I am not sure I am reading the right info.

My grandson is home on leave for Christmas from that program until January 2nd and he says they are always cold and hungry as they spend most nights in sleeping bags outdoors. Some long thermal underwear is very useful. They can use cell phones most Sundays so you should have regular calls home.

Alpha graduates 3/5/2015. That's roughly 2 months from when your Marines will be reporting.

I'm confused with the dates on the page with the graduation dates. She mentioned Alpha.

Welcome Cheryl and peachsb! My congrats to your daughters with best wishes through this part of their Marine training.
Click graduation info to see the graduation schedule. I'm guessing they will be with Alpha, graduating 3/5/2015.

Once you know for sure the Company they have picked up with, do start a discussion above (click +Add a Discussion).
