Well said.... this is the beginning for sure.

Well, it has been an interesting journey, to watch you all mature from (figuratively) watching him stand on the yellow footprints, totally lost (both you and them); to a confident, ready for anything (well, almost anything), Marine Parent veteran.

But I will not be saying "Goodbye". You see, the journey is still in it's beginning and you will be finding (and giving) support for a few years yet. Remember, you have just finished going to the top of the first hill and down the 1st drop, with many more ups and downs, twists and turns on the rollercoaster called the USMC. Hold on tight, the ride still has a ways to go.

So this old timer is going to say "See you at the next duty station" and wish you the best for you and yours. Any time you see them, try to remember to give your Marine a hug from this Marine Dad.

Semper Fi and Semper Gumby.

ABC' apologies.  I truly understand, the time went by crazy quick.  My son had mentioned that everyone was offered RA but some declined.  Hope you had a nice visit.

Enjoying my Marine!!  Today we are celebrating Christmas with the family.  My dad came into town and we are having a big dinner.  Sunday we are having a little "party" for Andrew with friends....we'll be watching the Super Bowl also.  He's enjoying this time and relaxing.  Went out running yesterday.  He's glad to be done with boot camp and ready for the "real" stuff. ;)

I hope and pray all are enjoying their Marines while we have the opportunity!  :)  After reading some posts, I'm thankful my Marine is good to go.  Has the California hacky cough that he says most all have and now getting a little restless right now. He says he's bored!  lol lol  :)  Well, after 3 months of "lights, lights, lights", and get moving comments, I'm glad he's bored.  I caught him napping on Tuesday; it warmed this mamma's heart to see that.  :)  Take care all and God Bless!!

michele belle,

Sorry to hear your Marine is sick.  Can't give you better infomation than already given here.  I hope he is feeling better soon.

General topic:

My honey, a Marine infantryman,  has always taken care of his feet and told our Grandson that is the MOST important thing you can do in the service.  Good feet make for a good Marine.  Hope everyone is enjoying their Marine.

God Bless and Semper Fi

Texas Mom, Im sorry we didnt get to meet we were so very busy from the moment we got into Cali until we pulled away from my son. Brett stayed in Cali with some other friends. He wanted to go right into the next phase of training without taking the liberty.

Yeah I'm going to school for cosmetology and have had classes for pedicures and the diseases. Brocs feet are a mess. Please have your sons take care of their feet. Wash and dry daily. Thoroughly dry them. Also white socks are best when they can. Good feet are necessary for strong men. Love to all

Thanks for sharing about the medical.  My son also was told to go to an emergency room or urgent care center if he needed medical attention.  Also good to know about your son having the start of trench foot - I will have my new Marine double check his feet as well.  And in addition - AWESOME GRADUATION.  Love having my son home for a little while.  Getting ready to cook all the favorite meals.

Was told by the recruiter today to take him to an emergency room so it doesn't cause any problems with insurance, doesn't matter if it's an emergency or not. Again this is from the recruiters directly to my son because he has P.K. On his feet. The start of trench foot (really bad athletes foot to where it bleeds)
