MarineParents: Marine Family Network (MFN)

An Outreach Program of MarineParents.com

Hi everyone,
It looks like a April 3rd ship date. I'm trying to find the number for a shuttle down in Savannah or Hilton Head so I can get a better idea of what I'll come graduation. Anyone have any numbers. I tried pointe shuttle and they told me no and hung up.

Have you thought about taking the train down? I have a Marine Mom friend that lives in Maine. She took the train down, it was the cheapest option for her.

I actually did, but it would a 14 hour ride with a 2 and a half year old. That might be my last resort. Jet blue will fly to Savannah round trip was about 300 bucks.

I recently traveled to PI and didn't have any luck finding a shuttle. You could try calling the Savannah USO. If anybody knows, they would. I just ended up renting a car since it's hard to get around at Parris Island/Beaufort without one. It looks like there is a Greyhound bus that runs from Savannah to Beaufort a couple of times a day, but the bus station isn't very close to the airport. When my husband travelled, he ended up taking a taxi. That wasn't cheap. Maybe you could connect with someone here and catch a ride.

Hi Jean, You can get on the Savannah Airport website and search for ground transportation. I believe there are a few options.

I rented a car. Your recruit will have a lot of luggage to take back home so if you are renting a car make sure that you have room for 2 sea bags (big duffles) and a garment bag along with the rest of your luggage.

Hope that helps,

Susan (1~Momma Hen)

A friend just suggested uber.
