A Marine Family Christmas:
Got Family travelled down in Jacksonville to have theirs in the Mess Hall with their people.
Got Family in Pecola gettin' to have theirs at home and with fellow Marines that can't get home.
Got Family across this land with Marines Home for a day or two.
Got Some Family that Don't cuz their people are on the Island and hit the Crucible 12/27.
Got some Family with theirs in MRP/FRP and fighting the good fight, with all they got.
And some Family we got have theirs just past Black Friday and met the Ugliest Santa's that ever lived :)
And Some Family we got can't be home this time for they have a job to do.
Stretched across the many miles of this great Country.
Across Oceans and Mountains, in Foreign Lands.
A Job to Do.
SO, Those of US, THIS Marine Christmas, as all Marine Christmasses Go...
Enjoy it to the Fullest, for it is Our Responsibility to Do So for those That Can't this Time around.
And Each, in their Turn, as Marine Families, will do so as well, when it is Their Turn, and Our time.
As Our People Stand Watch.
Best Wishes to all.

Comment by 1~Keri (HCC) on December 18, 2012 at 11:03am Congratulations to all of your new Marines!! OohRah!! :) I hope all of you are enjoying your new Marine's leave time and savoring each moment. It goes by so fast....
Come join our What's After Boot groups on the Marine Family Network
Now that boot camp is over many of you will be saying “How can I connect on the Marine Family Network?”… “Where should I go?” I’m glad that you asked! We have just the place for you! We have groups for SOI (MCT and ITB) as well as for the different MOS’s. MCT is for Marines who hold a MOS of NON Infantry. Marines reporting who have a MOS of Infantry will attend ITB. So while your Marine is in MCT or ITB you will have a place to connect. Then you can move on to our MOS groups and connect with others during MOS School. Click on this link to visit our What’s After Boot page with links to all of the WAB groups. http://marinefamilynetwork.com/page/wab-soi-mos We also have a variety of general support groups that you will want to check out such as our For Parents of Marines group and our For Wives, Fiancees and Girlfriends of Marines group. You will find them and more listed here: http://marinefamilynetwork.com/page/marine-supporters If you want more information about the next stage in your Marine’s career.
Check out our Whats After Boot website: http://www.whatsafterboot.com/ We hope to see you soon in our After Boot groups!

Prayers for CT.
As to the terrible news from today, I cannot speak to it. Having lost a couple of young ones along the way, I KNOW, and Here, if we can, we must focus on Our Blessings, and Just Pray for them. I am so very sorry for their Loss. There are no words for that kind of Loss. Believe me. I Know.

OK People...You Know the drill....
As I have done before and will continue...
It is time, once again, for all of us to raise our voices in prayer for 1st Bat Charlie and 4th Bat Oscar, who this night shall take their March into the Woods and the 54 hour Challenge that is the Crucible and defines a United States Marine.
To Go On. It's what they Do, together!
And You are today with them, as they were for Yours.
And on the Dawn of the Third Day, Marines march Out of the Woods!
And will stand with you tomorrow!
And on this night I would like to offer up a Poem, inspired and written by an Old Marine who's son this Night Shall Face this final Test.
For it is Perfect.
As You all Know,
When it was Your Time.
Respectfully,
wd
The Crucible
Marines who have gone before – and those who are yet to be
The training is done, our challenge is set, and now it falls to me
While once a civilian –nothing special to see
For the rest of my life a Marine I will be
My focus is intense and my body is strong
You might choose to challenge me – but the fight won’t last long
Regardless of the future and the struggles it may mean
I will stand and fight with my fellow Marines and keep our honor clean
I now accept the challenge from America’s foes
To defend our nation’s flag wherever it goes
From Belleau Wood to the streets of Hue
Whether World War I or the present day
Marines stand ready to fight once more
Semper Fidelis to our beloved Corps
I will finish this course through which I’ve fought
And earn the title that can’t be bought

Comment by terryandtwyla on December 10, 2012 at 10:29am I think I can hear the crickets chirping. If everyone is like me ,after the emotional roller coaster of the last week, we are exhausted and just ready to go.
