So I just happened to stumble upon our old group of family members of Marine graduates of Sept 7 2012!  Curious...anyone still checking the site?  How are your Marines doing?

Family day and Graduation were wonderful and I will remember them always. My son looks great and is ever so proud to be a Marine. Seeing him makes me smile and brings tears to my eyes. My condolences and prayers go to the family of PFC Jonathan Crawford. Although there is much happiness in seeing my son, there is also sadness to know that a Marine from the Kilo Company has passed away. God Bless You PFC Jonathan Crawford, USMC.

He was in my grandson's  Company.  My heart aches for this family.  I pray to God to give them the strength during this very, very, sad time. RIP PFC. Jonathan Crawford.

I saw the post about the tragic loss of one of our new Marines and just wanted to express my condolences to his family and friends. Our son just graduated from 3rd BN, Kilo Co in San Diego on July 27th. May God bless and comfort those who are grieving.

He was in my son's Platoon 3066 and he was the scribe.  Such a tragic ending, my prayers go out to his family.

Jonathon A. Crawford of Clermont County, Ohio, was identified late Saturday as the Marine who drown off  Hunting Island State Park on Friday afternoon. Words cannot express my sadness to the family whose son was taken from them too soon. Many prayers will be lifted up especially for you.

Family Day and Graduation was by far one of the most memorable days of my life.  I thought I had cried all my tears out on Family Day when I saw my Marine and that I would be fine at Graduation.  But let me tell you, hearing the Marine Corps Band play the Star Spangled Banner and seeing Kilo Co. all lined up to enter the parade deck, I lost it. Congratulations everyone!

We had a great time. Such a memorable experience. We were there on base wednesday, thursday and friday. An experience not soon forgotten. Congrats to all the families new Marines! oorah!

On the other note, I too am sad about the tragic news of Kilo's loss. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Hi Maria,  thanks for checking in.  it was one of the best days of our lives--just second to giving birth to our kids.  he received an award for highest combined physical training.  Not sure what the letters stand for yet.  I need to get the program out.  But, so proud of him.

I just read some unbearably tragic news.  One of the new marines that graduated yesterday drowned in South Carolina on Hunting Island.  I am just so sick to my stomach.  They will not release his name. He was 19 years old.    I pray for his family.
