Mine's in 3093, and this past Sunday, he said to send bars and cough drops.  He said they are finally getting them.  Maybe they don't share between platoons?

I got a letter today from the 25th. And my son said not to send any more that the DI's said they dont need any more. They have alot. That is a good thing. At least they know all of us moms love all 85 of them :) platoon 3088

Thanks! Seems like they would let them eat them if they had too many.....oh, well. My son mentioned he couldn't wait to eat his favorite dessert! Sounds like sweets are minimal although he DID mention how much he enjoyed the peanut butter pancakes!

So...just to clarify....hold off on sending protein bars to Plt 3088? Planned on making a Sam's trip this weekend to buy more.

Oh sorry, yes mine is 3088.

Huh - mine asked for protein bars and cough drops.

Maybe different platoons?

Comment by Mom2ADC on October 4, 2013 at 9:21am

Good morning all! Not sure if you have been told by your recruits yet but mine just asked me to hold off on sending any more protein bars as the DI's have run out of room to store them. :-D I guess that's a good problem for our guys to have.

I've been enjoying his letters and knowing he is exactly where he has wanted to be for years and seems to really be enjoying it as much as he can. Said that the DI's wanted to give him his bayonet after the bayonet assault course because he almost snapped the blade! Whoot whoot! I love knowing he is going full force as I knew he would. It gets my adrenaline pumping just thinking about it.

Have a great weekend to all and may you all get some letters soon.

Have a safe trip, Suzy!

Hurray for letters!  I got one yesterday, too!  Rushed home to get my daughter off to her practice.  While waiting at the end of the road for traffic to clear, I jumped out of the car and ran to the box.  My daughter yelled at me "What are you doing?  I'm gonna be late!"  Me -  "You're gonna be late anyway - what's another 30 seconds?"

And there it was!!!!!  I had her read it to me because I couldn't wait until I was parked!

He sounds very upbeat.  He didn't know what the date was, but it was "Sunday again" the day before initial drill and Phase 2.

There is a young man in his platoon from the next town over.  (any one here named V.?)

And I can tell from how he signed off that they are pronouncing his name incorrectly!

Thanks for all the help on shipping the protein bars.  And yes  there are still alot of kind caring people out there.  Looking forward to November 22.
