Toni -  was there something in particular that has caused you to feel that way?

Everything my son's recruiter said with confidence would happen, did.  Other things he said he didn't know exactly, but in his past experience blah, blah, blah,  ... and it was as he said most of the time.

As much as I don't want to say this, mainly because I trusted my son's recruiter and the Marine Corp, I have stopped believing half of what I see and NONE of what I hear! It's all craziness. Lol. Welcome to the world of being a Marine parent, I guess.:)

Suzy,me too! I told thaine how cool it will be if and when we go home to visit that there is a chance tucker and him could get together! We had a terrific was so exciting to see my son! I didn't even recognize him! Thank goodness for my cousin and her young eyes! We were there super early each day and got great seats for a huge led to perfect photos! It was nice to meet everyone and all the new marines my son calls his brothers! Now my youngest is talking about being a Marine...6 years I go thru this again!? Oh my .......

Mair - It was truly incredible.  Down to the core, I was moved and amazed for three days.  I still get choked up telling people about it.

And my son - I brought his favorite jeans to wear home.  He said he couldn't wear them because they have holes in them.  Me~  "YOU BOUGHT THEM LIKE THAT!"  Him~  "I know.  But everything I do now is a reflection of the Marines.  I can't have people thinking Marines are like that."  (WOW!!!  so me~ "Just don't get out of the car.")  He wouldn't even take off the 'blouse' to be more comfortable in the car - because you wear the whole thing or you don't wear any of it.

HOWEVER - I could do without the leaving the bathroom door open and the toilet seat up!

Hi Y'all,

We had such a WONDERFUL time/experience!! It will be an experience of a lifetime!! We're SO proud of our Marine!! I can't stop looking at his beautiful face (or rubbing his hair... ha ha)!! He just looks AMAZING!!

We tried to do it ALL!! AND I think we DID!! From the Yellow Footprints, to his bay/rack the obstacle courses, ALL the briefings and orientations, the Museum (which was SO wonderful)... the Moto Run, The Raising of the Colors, Graduation Practice as well as GRADUATION. We attended ALL the dinners they suggested, the steak dinner at Traditions, the Commanders dinner at the Lyceum AND we ordered the picnic lunches for Family Day (which were VERY good)... ALL were good!!

We got to talk with his SDI at the Commanders Dinner (Thursday night)... even tho Tuck had told us explicitly NOT to talk to him on Family Day... AND we told him that... and at first we weren't going to talk to him at all... ha ha!! BUT he said Tuck had followed his orders to the "T" and it was ok... HE was talking with us!! Tucker said, he gave him kudos and mentioned that he had followed his orders exactly how he had wanted them to be followed!!

It was wonderful to hear all the wonderful things he had to say about our Marine!! He said he wished every Recruit/Marine was like our son!! That Tucker was his go-to Marine... bc he knew it would be done properly, he only had to explain something to him once (that Tuck was very smart)... and that he was a dependable "team" player!! AND that Tuck gave 110%!! What could have been higher praise than that!!! He was truly WONDERFUL!!

We also got to talk with the Company Commander... while he wasn't as interesting as their SDI... he was also very sweet and it seemed to make the evening complete!!

Anyway, it was wonderful to meet several of you!! Shannon, I haven't posted any photos yet... but I will as soon as I can!! I'm SO glad we got photos of our sons together!!

It's been wonderful chatting with y'all, and I know y'all are as proud as I am!! Enjoy these next few days with your Marines!!

Love to ALL!!

what a sweet wonderful trip and ecstatic to be bringing my marine home :D I can't keep from giving him another hug...over and over lol. Sure wished I would have known about weeks ago it would have helped so much...but I made it and Graduation was a wonderful, unforgettable experience for me and my family.

Graduation was a wonderful, unforgettable experience!  So excited to meet Colton's family and Cody said to tell you "thank you again for pumpkin muffin, it was amazing!!"  Best of luck to all the new Marines and Marine families!!  So proud of 3089 Honor Platoon!
