Posted in Honoring Vets by Tim Hudak

On this Veterans Day, we salute our Veterans and extend our gratitude for their service. They are our relatives, friends, neighbors and co-workers. These individuals committed to a cause larger than their own and accepted the challenge to defend our Nation.

Find Veterans Day 2015 ceremonies and events below. Don’t see your communities? List it in the comments and we will post it here.

Remembering Our Fallen

“Remembering Our Fallen” is a war memorial that consists of individual state memorials created to remember our country’s Fallen from The War on Terror since the Twin Towers fell on September 11, 2001. But unlike most war memorials made of brick and mortar, these are designed to travel so that more people can have the opportunity to remember our Fallen while being reminded of the tremendous cost of our freedom. Its legacy will be that these men and women will be remembered and their names will be spoken.

I am in Franklin, approximately 1 hr south of Asheville. I would be interested in meeting with you also. I am willing to drive to Hickory area, takes me about 2 1/2 hrs from Franklin. There are a few other MoM's with me in Franklin. I am not sure they are on MFN. I could let them know as well. :)

Yes, NCMomx3, I think I met you through a mutual friend, Leighann???  If so, I have been waiting to get together with you and the others!

Great!!  If we can I would like to meet up after the new year.  I have a friend above Asheville and one in Hickory whose sons are in.  Our boys all trained together at some point in the last year & we met as a result of them.  How long has your son/daughter been in?

I am in AVL

Anyone here now from the western NC area?  I'm looking to get together with some other MoMs to meet up once a month or so for support.  My Marine has been in for about 1 year now.
