Hi Chris and nysgirl! my son graduates MCT at CP this Tuesday with the same MOS :-) His recruiter told him his school was backed up, do your guys have a start date that you know of? My son really wants RA but I would really prefer he just get on with his schooling.

Hi Chris.  Ditto my son too.  Arrived Pensacola today from CP and quite excited to start school.  (Or so he says)

Wonder how long they get to stay there.

Congrats Chris!

Tell your son congratulations!  He should like aviation ordinance- my son likes it- he's in Yuma with the new planes.  He likes it except for the heat (although it's dry) and the fact it's out in the middle of nowhere.  Takes 2 1/2 hrs to Phoenix or San Diego.  But he just got married, so he's better now that his wife is with him.  Keep in touch!

Just joined today. My son just got to Pensacola today and settled into his room. He is there for the MOS 6500 Aviation Ordinance. He is so looking forward to getting started after completing MCT in CP just yesterday.

Mandmsmom is so right about not believing everything they hear about how long it will take to class up!  When my son arrived at the airport at Pensacola, while still waiting for somebody to come pick him up, a higher ranking Marine told him that the wait was going to be 5 months.  My son (a very impatient young man) called me in a huge huff!  I reminded him that he was told a similar thing by another Marine about how long his wait for MCT would be -- which also didn't turn out to be true.  So, end of story, I think my son waited maybe 2 or 3 weeks to class up at Pensacola.  Not a bad wait at all.  I am beginning to think that some of the higher ranking guys like to get the newer ones all worked up over how long they're going to have to wait!  I know that some of the MOS schools really do have long waits, but that didn't happen for either my son or mandmsmom's son!  Hopefully your son's wait will be short, too!  Good luck to him! And I have to reiterate what Deborah said about staying at the top of the class! The top of the class really does get first choice for C School!
