Thank you, Laurie! I'very been asking this question for some time and yours is the first answer I've received. Our daughter arrived at Camp Geiger today for MCT and will be headed to Fort Meade, MD at the end of October.

It is at Ft Meade, Cheryl and my daughter says classes are 11 weeks long.
I was reading back in the posts on this page and noticed there may be some optional time after that for a broadcasting audition. In our case, my daughter arrived a month early, and will begin class on Oct 1. That makes her graduation sometime around the 10 the of Dec. Not including the audition. I think I read somewhere that the broadcasting audition is mandatory now, but I'm not sure on that.

Does anyone know how long the MOS "Public Affairs" lasts? I understand it's held at Fort Meade, MD.

Hi fellow 4300 parents! Just have a couple questions about Fort Meade. Can anyone tell me who my Marine should talk to about traveling over the Christmas break? I've googled everything and am having a hard time finding a travel agency or office on base. She is planning a trip to MCRD San Diego to see a friend graduate boot camp. If anyone had a Marine at Fort Meade over Christmas, when did their leave start? He graduates the 18th of December, which is precisely one week before Christmas Day. She would need to fly on the 17th.

She hasn't been given a start date. Thanks for talking :) Oki is wonderful place from what I hear. I'm cooking a big dinner, so it could be tomorrow before I get back here again lol. Ttyl!!

Hi Laurie!  My Marine graduated from Ft Meade in early 2014.  He is currently stationed in Okinawa and hopes to be there until he completes his 4 year commitment in January 2017.  When will your daughter start her classes?  This is a great MOS and she will have many opportunities!

After I read the comment wall, I noticed there has much said since 2013?

My Marine is at Ft Meade, waiting for her classes to begin. She arrived there on Sept. 9th. I am very proud of my daughter and am hoping to connect with other parents in the 43's OohRah!

I'm glad Rebecca that he will be there. I was always told to stay in training as long as possible. So when I was in the Air Force I tried but I couldn't keep my big mouth closed. I had to show that I knew more then the Airman first class (E-3) who was teaching the class and they graduated me first in the class and about two months early. I already had my aircraft mechanics license and really didn't need the school. Having said that my older son STILL has not picked up at his MOS school in Virginia Beach. Rebecca as you remember he graduated basic training with your boy back in April. I think he is going batty. He just wants to get schooled and get into the fleet. I'm hoping that my Combat Camera Marine won't have to wait too long to get through school and get into the fleet. However, I'm sure Bri5 (my wife) is happy with them safe and sound in the States for as long as could be physically possible. I too want them to be safe but I want them to be on their way to their chosen fields.
