2nd Radio Battalion is Expeditionary, 11MEF.

In the information box see and
CLICK HERE FOR 2nd Radio Bn UNIT INFORMATION PAGE (UIP) for the Battalion web site.
Sometimes these unit groups tend to be quiet. You can join the MCB Lejeune group too.

The Parents of Marines is kind of a gathering place for everyone with a variety of topics.

Once recruits have graduated they are active duty Marines!

Hi there,,

Now that our son is going thru training at Correy, what should be his status? is he still recruit or Active duty Marine? I wanted to update the profile. Thanks and God Be with you all, always..

Your Marine can put in a request for "Special Liberty" to his command.  That basically means he can go anywhere with you without his liberty buddy.  Our son put in for this and was able to stay at the cottage we had there at Pensacola.  Of course this was this past week-end when he had a "72".  I know that each situation is different, but it is possible in some situations.  I know our visit was wonderful, there was quite a bit to do at NAS Pensacola.  There is the lighthouse, a huge museum, a fort and of course the white sandy beach! Worth the trip, even though we got rear-ended the day before we left to head home. :o(

You can visit.  Ask your Marine the particulars because they seem to change with every situation.  When mine was there they couldn't go into your hotel room. You had to go pick them up and they had to know where they are going (i.e. beach, which restaurant) and how long they are going to stay.  I went on base and hung out with mine at the bowling alley.  You couldnt go into their rooms.  And it seems getting onto the base changed everytime we went in.  We really had to coordinate though.  When mine first went they were not allowed off base.  So we had to wait until they were.  And everywhere they went they had a buddy so you will have two Marines instead of one.

Have a Marine heading to Pensacola next week. Can anyone tell me how long 2621 training is? And can we visit?

Sounds like I'm not going to Pensacola. Thanks, y'all.
