My grandson is waiting to get picked up also.  He got there on Feb 14.  He had said last week that they either start the 5th or the 25th.  (hoping for the 5th).  He said also that they either sit or stand in formation all day.  I believe it's so they can't get into any trouble.  (which is a good thing).  I know it's boring for them and we as parents (grandparents) don't always understand, but I'm sure it is for the best as Dianne said earlier.  I don't think any of us wants them to get in to any trouble or have any problems after all they have been through so far.  It's a temporary issue I'm sure.  Hang in there IceMom.  I'm off to send a box to my grandson full of Girl Scout cookies for him to pass around!

What Mos does your grandson have? My son is 0621 Field Radio Operator. He was not on the list to be picked up this week. He is hoping he is on the next list to start on the 11th! He has been promoted from sitting in formation to mopping floors on a working party! He is very happy for that. I am also sending my son girl scout cookies. He just got a po box.

Didn't I just join this. Guess I didn't. My son graduated boot on January 23, 2015. After MCT he went to 29 Palms and was picked up by Bravo Co. yeasterday, March 9, 2015.

My son started classes last Monday. He said the reason BMAT had to stand in formation several times a day was due to some getting into trouble so it was to make sure they were not up to no good. Now that he's in class things are settled down and he is really enjoying it (except the surprise formation during liberty weekend). He also said there was tons to do there. There's a big library, lots of volleyball sand pits, gym's, humane shelter to volunteer at, a lot to keep them busy while they wait and a lot of different groups/ activities. He got his Skype set up so was able to Skype with him Friday night. It was pretty neat to say the least.
