My son is not starting until July 1.

any one whose marine is in the Field Radio field? does any one know why the Marines  are still using 1960's - 1970's equipment ? is any of the equipment upgraded to 2014?

My son's MOS is Field radio operator but he has to go through MCT first. Not overly familiar with any of this but will catch up eventually.

Might I suggest that when he gets to Palms, to get his own mailbox? The Co Sent me a welcome letter when Zack started classes and there was a address in that e-mail. Problem was, it was Headquarters which not only embarrassed my new Marine because he had to get a NCO to get his mail, but by the time he got out of class, there was usually no one around.

Zack was able to get his own mailbox within the first few weeks and we never had an issue with him not getting his mail.

our s is going to NC  for  PDS  any Moms group in NC for Field Radio Operator ?

probably not. Once they get their PDS, most people go to the PDS page or the Unit pages. If he was going to the Comm Bn, there is rarely any traffic on those pages.

oh k thanks maybe I can start one thanks

You might try your state group too Jean.

The MCB Lejeune group may be good for information about the base and surrounding area.

My best wishes as your Marine joins the fleet and gets settled in to his PDS.
