My son took a timeout from his assigned MOS to go on a "special deployment".  He LOVED that.  He is an action-loving guy and logistics has been hard for him.  And since he can't do his ultimate goal of something with special forces, he will be getting out at the end of his contract.  But he's excited for his future and has plans already in place.  He HAS enjoyed and appreciated his time with the Corps!

Good morning to you too, Greg233. I'm glad your son is doing well. Happy Saturday!

Morning all,

Just a shout out to all the family members out there.  Mine is doing well at his assignment. First deployment under his belt.  Hope all is well

It depends on your Marine's MOS. There are 5 MOS Specialties under Logistics. Scroll down to Field 04xx. You will see the MOS location as well as the Marine Family Network group forums.

After your son's 10 day leave from Marine graduation (woohoo!), he will report to SOI/MCT 3/11 (Unless he gets a week or so of RA), for 29 days of combat training... every Marine a rifleman.

My best wishes with prayers through the last big test in becoming a Marine!

Hi! My son graduates next Friday Feb 28. He has a 10 day leave than has to report back for MOS. He's doing Logistics. I'm wondering where and how long he will be gone?

phone service is TERRIBLE at CP, that may be why you haven't heard from your son. They also only get their phones for Liberty. My son didn't call very often from CP either, but now that he is at his MOS we text daily. Hopefully your son can request a 96 hour leave for Christmas

My son graduates from MCT Dec. 10 then will join his MOS Logistics 0431. I am anxious to hear from him! Not even one phone call during MCT. I am hoping there will be good news once he is with his MOS and can come home for Christmas.

Congrats to your Marine timsmom (Pauline) and welcome to this MOS forum. :)
Delays at MOS schools are common and the length of delay can change weekly. Your Marine is your best source if there is a delay. At least now your Marine can talk evenings and weekends. :)
Good luck you your Marine in this phase of his Marine career.

Hi! My Son's MOS school 0411 on backup, he just graduated from MCT last week and stayed on base for internal guard duty. He ~thinks he ships back east to Lejeune on Oct.15 with a start date sometime in November.  I have scoured the official website for the base and have gathered great information from here.
Questions:

1) Anyone else have a Marine soon to join the 0411 training?

2) What type of 'housing' is for MOS training at CL? I know each location has different arrangements.
3) When can we visit our Marine while he at CL for his MOS training? Looking to book tickets from West Coast

4) How long is the 0411 training?

Thanks for letting me join the group!
