Welcome new recruit families!!

The first phone call:
http://recruitparents.com/bootcamp/first-phone.asp

Your 13 weeks begins right here. The phone calls should have started on Monday late evening/night. Your recruits are in GOOD HANDS... no need to worry.
Share a comment here when you get your phone call. We're in this together and we're glad you've found the group!
T-10!! :)

Recruits are able to go to the MCX to buy stamps and writing supplies; although, you may send a book of stamps included in your letter. My Marine shared a stamp or two if he had too many and another recruit needed a stamp. I also included a few letters (to dear Recruit) for him to hand out of he thought a recruit needed a letter.

Time for another haircut.

Small Unit Leadership

Law of Land Warfare

Equal Opportunity

Mail call is the MOST important time of the day so keep writing!!
Welcome aboard proudmamaof3sons!

July 6 isn't that far off. Enjoy each moment you can with the sending parties and last minute dinners with his favorite foods. With him being the last out of the house, maybe some traveling can be in your future... MCT graduation may be too far but maybe visiting in Pensacola. :)
These recruit boards have changed some with most members moving to the recruit FB groups so hopefully more families will join you here.
I have training info posted in each group and try to post the daily or weekly updates and other info on helping though this journey.

This is when the needs of the Corps has worked in your favor. :) He will like Aviation.

What a great day to be sworn in... Memorial Day, like an honor to enter into recruit training on this day.

My best wishes for your son when he begins the journey.

My son also leaves July 6th, and was switched from infantry to Aviation ( I believe he will be working on the planes). Also my last child...we have a lot in common! Best wishes. The emotions can be overwhelming.

Hello everyone!  I am from Austin Texas, and my son leaves July 6th.  Anyone out there with this ship date? His contract was changed to Aviation instead of infantry (which I have been thanking God every day)and moved from July 20th to July 6th.  All the poolee's in Austin will be sworn in on Memorial Day at the Round Rock Express baseball game.  We are thrilled! A lot of emotions, making sure I enjoy every moment I have with him...He is my last one, and not sure how to handle this empty nester thing!

Welcome Tracy! Hopefully the emotions won't seem so overwhelming with another parent in just about the same situation.
:)

I am in Wisconsin, he is my only boy, and only one to go in into the service. It is all he has talked about for three years and he has been involved with local projects for veterans. All three of yours in service, wow! I am nervous with one-putting on a brave face.

Hello, where can I go to more information has what phase my brother is in.  He graduates on June 5th.  Thank you.

Hi, Pearl--   If I calculated correctly, your bro should be in Phase III which you can read about in the following link:  http://marinefamilynetwork.com/group/mcrdsd1/forum/topics/phase-iii

He should be gearing up for the Crucible very soon.

I wish you and your brother the best!

Yes, this coming Sunday should be the last chapel before the Crucible. Here are a couple prayers and a blog on the meaning of the Crucible.

The Meaning of "Crucible"

A Dad’s Crucible Prayer.

I Am THERE, WITH YOU

I am There, with You
In the Dust, and The Fray;
I am there with YOU, My Child,
As I am Each and Every Day.

A Moms Crucible Prayer.

Did You Know When you awoke this morning to begin the crucible

Did you know I walked every step with you that was possible?

When you humped all those miles over rough terrain,

Did you know I was by your side again?

A Mother's Prayer

As you awake this Thursday morning with the crucible ahead,

Your dad and I will wake up too, and kneel beside our bed.

You’ll start your day with guns and gear, and be ready for the worst,

But we’re praying that God’s armor is the one you’ll put on first.
