More on the Crucible: http://marinefamilynetwork.com/group/mcrdsd1/forum/topics/crucible
The Meaning of "Crucible"
A Dad’s Crucible Prayer.
I Am THERE, WITH YOU
I am There, with You
In the Dust, and The Fray;
I am there with YOU, My Child,
As I am Each and Every Day.
A Moms Crucible Prayer.
Did You Know When you awoke this morning to begin the crucible
Did you know I walked every step with you that was possible?
When you humped all those miles over rough terrain,
Did you know I was by your side again?
A Mother's Prayer
As you awake this Thursday morning with the crucible ahead,
Your dad and I will wake up too, and kneel beside our bed.
You’ll start your day with guns and gear, and be ready for the worst,
But we’re praying that God’s armor is the one you’ll put on first.
Super Sick-call (this is after the Crucible and to check Marine’s of any issues)
Prayers up.. candles let Alpha Co. families!!
Are there any pictures of our boys? They finished Crucible yesterday. Platoon 1014
Usually there are no photos posted but you can check the OFFICIAL USMC MCRD SD PAGE. When you see your new Marine on family day you can ask if he has ordered the yearbook and pass in review. There are photos throughout boot in this yearbook. There is also a DVD which has the Emblem ceremony.. very moving and touching to see new Marines receiving their Eagle, Globe and Anchor.
Coming up next week - Marine Week - week 12: Marching and drilling for Family Day and Graduation.
Clearing out and cleaning up the barracks!
Do double check with your Marine what time they need to report back to the barracks on Family Day and to leave them 15 minutes early to go back. As precious as that time is with them, being late will result in them not graduating and leaving with you on Friday.
Some information on family day and graduation:
A lot of the new Marines will wear their uniforms to the airport and home,, (mine did). One of the few times that a Marine will not wear civvies on a plane.
Hugs and thanks from this MoM! :)
