Battle Color Detachment

The Drum & Bugle Corps, Silent Drill Platoon, and the Official Color Guard of the Marine Corps tour across the United States to demonstrate discipline, professionalism, and “Esprit de Corps” of the United States Marines. U.S. Marines with Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations West, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, perform a reenactment of the Mount Suribachi flag raising during the 72nd Iwo Jima Commemoration ceremony at the Pacific Views Event Center on Camp Pendleton, Calif., Feb. 18, 2017. The ceremony is held to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima.

Camp Pendleton Celebrates 75 Years

Camp Pendleton, Calif. -- Throughout 2017, Camp Pendleton is celebrating 75 years as a premier Marine Corps training base. In honor of the occasion, the base has invited the public to a number of events including multiple base tours and the 2017 Battle Color ceremony. 

President Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in honor of Maj. Gen. Joseph H. Pendleton, Sept. 25, 1942.

The Camp Pendleton’s Fire Emergency Services department was recently recognized as 2016’s Department of Defense Fire Department of the Year in a message released by the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, May 17, 2017.
