MarineParents: Marine Family Network (MFN)

An Outreach Program of MarineParents.com

My boyfriend received his first orders a few days ago & Camp Pendleton it is! He is very excited and looking forward to the adventures ahead. We hope to be married before next school year and I am looking into getting my teaching license transferred from Ohio to Cali. Is this difficult? Is it worth it based on the job market out there? Any advice would be fantastic!!!

California needs all the good teachers it can get! Check out this link from the Dept of Education to see how you can transfer your credentials.

Good luck! With any luck my marine will also be at Camp P after November 1st. Waiting for his orders to come through.

Thanks for responding. I'm sending in my application very soon!! Good luck with your move as well! Will you live on or off base?

oh I'm just the mom :) he's only 19 and not married, so he'll be on base in barracks but he has a ton of friends who live relatively near by.

It's very hard to transfer teachers licenses because CA has the highest standards. I wish you good luck! I'm trying to switch my CNA license from FL and it's very hard, even though FL has high standards as well. I also live on CP if you have any questions
