We just found out our son will be stationed in Okinawa starting in January after he completes his training in 29 Palms, CA. Any must know information? Is there a good resource out there I should look into?

Hi everyone !
Please check out this link to vote for a Sgt. in the Marine Corps for American Hero of the Year. The deadline for voting is just a few days (Sept. 6) from now. The Sgt. is one of five finalists for American Hero of the Year and the only Marine::
Thank you!

Mine usually go from northern Virginia to Chicago then to Japan.  That's all the tracking shows.  Usually takes about 10 days, but I mailed a laptop two weeks ago and it got there in record time!  Shipped on Monday, arrived the following Monday!

Any idea why a package sent USPS from the East coast shows the last designation as "departed facility" in Nashua NH?  Wouldn't it at least go to the west coast?  It's a lot closer going west than east to Japan!!

There's a few discussions going for CFR in the MOS group with some good information to learn and good people to emeet.

My best wishes to your Marine, Kylesmom through his MOS training.

Kylesmom, I just sent you a friend request. My son has been there since November. What is your sons MOS? Mine is aviation ordnance. He says they are a really right group and do a lot together. He seems to really like the area so far. He took his iphone with him when he left but. Just so he could text me along the way. And use it if wifi was available. Once there they have to buy a new phone if they want one. My son got another iPhone and we text (iMessage) for free. I hear from him at least once a week usually. We also Skype about once a month when we can get our schedules to work. We're in Virginia. He's 13 hours ahead so I'm usually heading to bed when he's getting up and vice versa :). It's nice to see him and hear his voice though so we work it out. If you have any specific questions please feel free to message me and I'll try to help. Still new myself.
