Cassiej: Thanks so much for having your students make cards! When my son was deployed he received some cards that children had made and he loved them.
For your next project please consider MarineParent's Operation PAL project. Our injured Marines would love getting handmade cards! Learn more at http://www.operationpal.com/
Comment by Cassiej on November 3, 2011 at 12:55pm I have a Recruit at Parris Island right now, and I wanted to keep busy and do some good. I had my Special Ed students (and my kids) make some very nice "Happy Birthday Marine" cards to be included in the birthday boxes. We all had so much fun and hope that it brings a smile to the faces of our Marines serving overseas. We ended up making 54 total and I mailed them overnight in order to meet the deadline for inclusion. I look forward to doing it again next year. We are trying to decide what to do next....I am always collecting for the Care packages...maybe some handmade "Get Well" cards for sick and injured Marines....I love this website and all its information...the feeling of support and family...and for me the opportunity to do some good. :-)

Comment by LizzyakaCaligirl on November 3, 2011 at 11:54am We will be celebrating by bringing the Marine Corps ball to our son this year as he is unable to go. We are having a dinner and dance at our home with other Marines present and past in our area. God bless all our troops and their families.

Comment by 1~Tanya (Tanya) on October 29, 2011 at 10:05am The date of the birthday is November 10, but the dates of the various balls and their location is specific to the unit/base. You'd have to contact someone in your Marine's unit to figure out when and where they might be celebrating.
