Thanks Keri. I'll read that ... Think it will just be another thing I know nothing about though, not sure my marine will share that with me.

Read Larry's comment here about composite scores, cutting scores and the promotion system.

Rosemarie & Alita, that's great! So happy for all accomplishments by our KILO family :)  Rosemarie, you're right. What would we have done without our Family K?  OK, I have no idea what composite points are, have never asked SEA because this is the first i've heard of them... pretty sure that means he's not too close, and he probably wouldn't answer me if I asked.  :-/  Thank you Keri! Such a sad, tragic accident:(

Will head over to that page.

Beanpole is doing well.  Less than 200 points away to rank up to Corporal.  He's enjoying mainland Japan, settling in terrifically with the guys in his specialty, working towards level 3 MCMAP and thinking about working towards becoming a MCMAP instructor.

My Marine is 300 composite points away from Corporal. He said it's highly unlikely that he will get it until next year at best.

All of my Marines are okay. I type this from Ft. Meade visiting #2 before his graduation.

Pretty cool Danny. Very Ooh Rah kinda "Moto" kinda story as my son would say. Is everyone o.k. in Camp Lejeune this week? With the tragic accident that happened there, at the gate, I'd like to call roll and make sure all of our KILO is in an o.k. place?

There's a cool story about the Marine Barracks on 8th and I. From what I'm told when the English took DC they burned down every building save that barracks. The reason was because they knew it was the US Marines barracks and because the commander of the English force was so impressed with the way the Marines fought. He felt to save their barracks in their honor. That is why it still stands today; in honor or the Marines who fought and died defending DC.
Danny.
