Hello my KILO family. I am so grateful and comforted by all of your support. It has truly been a whirlwind of emotions for the past couple of days. My greatest, and most painful sorrow is that my Marine, my son, SEA, who was so cherished  and so very loved and so very close to his grandmother, is alone, absent of biological family during these days of great sorrow. I know he has his brothers, his Marine family. He is deployed, and re-deployed from his deployment. He was 3 hours from even red cross contact and, he thought, unable to reach us in time.  It turns out he was right. Grammy died before the end of that day that I spoke to SEA. He could be here by the funeral on Thursday but it was too late for him to reach her bedside.  It's breaking my heart but I haven't opened another incident with the red cross to let him know that she has passed.  His choice.   I know that SEA has a new family, a Marine brotherhood.  I pray that his Brotherhood is at least as strong as our Marine Motherhood. I pray that he is surrounded with the loving support that he will sorely miss here at home... as we sorely miss him.  Thank you all for your support, thank you Alita for sharing my great need.  My cup runneth over. God bless you all.

So sorry to hear of the passing of your mom, SEAmom. It's never an easy thing to have a loved one leave us any time, especially on special days. I offer my prayers for the difficult days ahead and beyond.
((hugs))
prayers always

SEAmom Bri5 and I are very sad to hear this. We both hope that you will be filled with peace over the next few days and weeks. Hopefully SEA can get leave. I will keep you in prayer.
Danny.

Hello Kilo Family.  Kilo has lost another Nana.  SEAmom (Linda)'s mom suffered a catastrophic stroke and passed away earlier today.  The Red Cross was able to get a sat link for SEA.  Can we offer strength to Linda, facing the loss of her mom the day before Mother's Day, and her only child so far away?  Semper Familia= always family.  Here for you.

Thanks Keri. I'll read that ... Think it will just be another thing I know nothing about though, not sure my marine will share that with me.

Read Larry's comment here about composite scores, cutting scores and the promotion system.

Rosemarie & Alita, that's great! So happy for all accomplishments by our KILO family :)  Rosemarie, you're right. What would we have done without our Family K?  OK, I have no idea what composite points are, have never asked SEA because this is the first i've heard of them... pretty sure that means he's not too close, and he probably wouldn't answer me if I asked.  :-/  Thank you Keri! Such a sad, tragic accident:(

Will head over to that page.
