Posted in Honoring Vets by Tim Hudak

On this Veterans Day, we salute our Veterans and extend our gratitude for their service. They are our relatives, friends, neighbors and co-workers. These individuals committed to a cause larger than their own and accepted the challenge to defend our Nation.

Find Veterans Day 2015 ceremonies and events below. Don’t see your communities? List it in the comments and we will post it here.

Remembering Our Fallen

“Remembering Our Fallen” is a war memorial that consists of individual state memorials created to remember our country’s Fallen from The War on Terror since the Twin Towers fell on September 11, 2001. But unlike most war memorials made of brick and mortar, these are designed to travel so that more people can have the opportunity to remember our Fallen while being reminded of the tremendous cost of our freedom. Its legacy will be that these men and women will be remembered and their names will be spoken.

Hi Gayle,

I am not sure if you are a member of the Echo Company group. You may find families from Indiana there as well. Click on the link below and it will take you to that group.

Dreanna, are you on his company group here? I would ask some of the moms to go over and hug him on family day and graduation. They probably will be more than happy to get pictures for you and let your boyfriend hang with them. I'm going to friend you to personal message you.

My boyfriend is due to graduate nov 15 from San Diego. No one is going to be able to make it. I really want to go but I don't have the money and my mom won't let me travel alone. Is there anyone that can help!?

Hi hisdream. When my son went to swear in at MEPS my husband, myself and my other son was there for him. So glad that we did. We even went to the hotel he spent the night at the day before. We took him out for supper and he hung out with us until he had to go back to his room. After swearing in he got on the bus to Indy airport. My husbands drivers license expired and he didn't know it or we would have followed him to the airport. They let you get a pass and wait with them. Always flt bad we didn't get to do that. Cried all the way home :( It was a long two days, but would have done it all over again. It's a really long 13 weeks before you see him again at graduation. Good luck to you and your soon to be marine :)
