Veterans Day 2015: Ceremonies and events

Posted on Thursday, November 5, 2015 12:46 pm
Posted in Honoring Vets by Tim Hudak

On this Veterans Day, we salute our Veterans and extend our gratitude for their service. They are our relatives, friends, neighbors and co-workers. These individuals committed to a cause larger than their own and accepted the challenge to defend our Nation.

Find Veterans Day 2015 ceremonies and events below. Don’t see your communities? List it in the comments and we will post it here.

The ability for it to travel is logistically amazing. The video was very well done and brings a beauty of honoring the memory to an otherwise ugly reality of loss. Its a privilege to be able to give respect to others' losses, especially when we cant go so far away to do so. I cant even imagine what it will be like when its all combined into one memorial!!

From what I read, the mission is to create a memorial for every state began in 2011, in hopes of achieving this goal by 2016, when all 50 exhibits will be brought together for a National Tour.

Until then, the completed memorials remain in their home state and travel to hometowns of the Fallen and other communities, often enhanced by Legion or Patriot Guard Rider escorts and opening ceremonies.

Remembering Our Fallen

“Remembering Our Fallen” is a war memorial that consists of individual state memorials created to remember our country’s Fallen from The War on Terror since the Twin Towers fell on September 11, 2001. But unlike most war memorials made of brick and mortar, these are designed to travel so that more people can have the opportunity to remember our Fallen while being reminded of the tremendous cost of our freedom. Its legacy will be that these men and women will be remembered and their names will be spoken.

CFC -- Combined Federal Campaign
I think it's tied into the MCHF, Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and they display artifacts in certain times in Marine Corps history. At least this is what I understand from reading the MCHF web page.
Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong. :)

What is CFC?
