Grrr auto correct.. Thank you for your reply. He said he was no longer part of any company - is he now part of the marine expeditionary force? Is that what he means?

Hi Jer 29:11-13. I've sent you some information on this course so hopefully this helps to explain the new skills your Marine has learned. From what I have read, he returns to his unit (2/8). Yes these new skills fall into the Special Forces category and he could be called upon to utilize the new skills he has learned at some time.
My congrats to him and best wishes.

Hi I am trying figure out what my son is doing now. He just told us he has passed the Combat Rubber Reconnaissance Coxswain course as party of the Expeditionary Operations Training Group
II Marine Expeditionary Force. I think this means he is in SF? He was in the 2/8 at Camp LeJeune. He said he was either asked or tried out for - he called it SF. Does his this group he passed mean he is now in SF? If so what does that actually mean? Thank you for any help with this.

You are more than welcome to follow any group within Marine Family Network - no need to "boot" you. :)

Read this page about how the USMC is structured. You can access this and other interesting Marine Corps facts from the drop down menus on the right side of this page just under sub-header. Once here, click Marine Corps Battalion links and you will see the breakdown in the I, II and III MEF.

Welcome Rony Meyn! This is a small group and hopefully someone will join you soon. I think a lot of members don't realize these groups are here.

I see you have already found the Units and the High Security Billets group. Hoping you get some response in the other group too who want to connect and support one another.

For news and other info, here is the MEF web site:

I see you are following the Parents of Marines group too. You might start a discussion there also and hopefully attract others to come here for support.

There's the MOS groups you could see if anyone has graduated recently with your Marine's MOS.

Feel free to start a discussion here too.
