Gold Star Luminary Initiative

Every year, the 4th Sunday in September is set aside to honor our country's Fallen Heroes and to show our support for their families.

Please consider taking the pledge to light some luminaries at your home on this evening.

Thinking, praying for all our military until they all come home

Schlep, sorry to hear about your Marine's misfortune. I would also remind her that she has accomplished something that few people will ever accomplish..... becoming a Marine. This is just a little set back and she will be stronger for it.

“The strongest steel is forged by the fires of hell. It is pounded and struck repeatedly before it's plunged back into the molten fire. The fire gives it power and flexibility, and the blows give it STRENGTH. Those two thing make the metal pliable and able to withstand every battle it's called upon to fight.” Sherrilyn Kenyon The Dark-Hunters, Vol. 1

You can continue to encourage her and remind her that she did NOT fail.. her body did. But, with medical care she can and will push on to complete the challenges that lie ahead.

Each Marine's situation may be different but she can't let this stand in her way or change her way of thinking tha she will succeed whether or not she has to repeat MCT.

Hello everyone. I have a situation and am wondering what the best way to support my daughter is. Yesterday she was finishing up her last hike in MCT. She had a 1/2 a mile to go when she suffered heat stroke, fell and fractured her foot. She would have been graduating next Tuesday. She was not allowed to take her last written test today, and she's been told she may have to repeat MCT. I've never seen her like this. She's one of the happiest and strongest people I know. But I can't say I blame her. She did it all, including the majority of the hike and now she may have to repeat MCT. That being said, we learned that a female Marine broke her leg during the same hike a few years ago, had a metal rod inserted in her leg, and because she did everything else, she took her written exam and was sent straight to MOS school.
I am dying for my daughter, I can't imagine the feeling of defeat she must have. In an unjust situation my level of anxiety is high, especially when there's nothing I can do.
How can I best support her?

"Hello everyone. I have contacted the support team with Ning in hopes of resolving this chat issue."

Here's hoping it is soon... :)
