Welcome to the High Security Billets Group!

Your Volunteer Moderator for this MFN group is 1~HCC_proud mom (Keri).  If you have questions or concerns about the group, please add Keri as a friend so you can talk with her directly, or ask in the forum below.

If your Marine is a high security billet you may post here and share with other families, but you may NOT identify your Marine's billet or unit. Being in here together puts you in a group of high security; that's as "connected" with your Marine's unit as you can get and remain OpSEC compliant.  High Security Billets include, but are not limited to, Recon, Force Recon, MARSOC, Intel, Sniper, Scout Sniper (STA or SSP), Presidential Guard Detail, FAST, JUMP, PSD, Embassy Security Group and Anti-Terrorism Bn.

There's a good, ongoing discussion on SF training in the 03xx MOS forum. You can discuss training there.

My best wishes to your Marine,

Awwww thank you please pray god hears us Marine Moms. Yes I agree with you 10 fold. My son in law 3 years way from retirement. He has been to Iraq and currently stationed in fort Benning. My daughter is very worried he literally finds out next month. I just keep praying.

I just don't get what is happening we need to build our military yet the cuts are hitting them and our veterans hard, but you are right our boys worked so hard to get where they are now. Your post made me tear up!!! Thank you for your kind words I can relate to your sons boredom and wanting to just start that training. He is happy where he is going and perhaps might be training your son. That's if they get that surgery done already.

I have talked to a few people and because of this training they should keep him. I really am grateful that my son had this great opportunity. The best training!! I'm just upset with the Heath care. Not sure what the delay is about, but my son is very lonely and bored. He feels useless. He is a hyper boy and needs to be kept busy.

VA beach is a fun place. I heard some stories. Lol I'm glad your Marine is starting soon. Thank god. I feel bad that the back up is so long. All I can say is hang in there moms!! It's a great team to be part of. So I will be praying for your Marine as well momofDomin8r56. He will fine. Also for all our Marines.

Hi Rony,

So sorry to hear of your son's injury, that's awful! I hope he gets the care he needs ASAP and heals quickly, I'll pray for him that he doesn't get cut, that would surely break his heart! These Marines put in so much training, blood, sweat & tears, to be cut because of his injury and medical care would be devastating.

My son is still waiting for training to start, he arrived in Chesapeake Mar 12, he's supposed to start training May 2....they are getting so bored. Thank goodness they get weekend lib & go to Virginia Bch for some fun. Good luck to your son in law as well, to be a Capt. and have the threat of being cut,. there's something wrong with the system here!

I can't believe the backup. I have been reading this and decided to comment. Two years ago no backup. I'm wondering if its because the demand and cutbacks. My son is almost finished and has his orders for a new base. The training is awesome!! Openings many doors for "Our Marines". Unfortunately, my son was hurt during training. His fault!! He was cross training. He got his recommendations from his commander and was planning on at least trying. He was very excited then unfortunately he ripped his shoulder out in the worst way. I'm a bit upset with the health system. I believe they are back up as well His injury occurred on jan 24 and he has been through physical therapy without an MRI. Then due to lack of range of motion they gave him mri two months later His shoulder was pulled out of socket by 4 inches. I know they knocked him out when he got to hospital. He is finally seeing a doctor in May. He is completely heartbroken because it was his dream. He needs surgery on a torn Librium

It is going to take months for him to heal. I'm praying they don't let him go. That is my biggest fear. He finished two deployments.

So to all the parents tell your boys to hang in there. The training is the best.

My son in law a Captain in the Army. He has a 90% chance of being cut due to all the cutbacks. I'm a asking for prayers for them both.

Praying for all our Marines.

It's hard to say about the back up. Jake got to come home for 6 wks of RA. Before he classed up. They can put in for where they want to go but they get sent where the need is. They do get some weekends off. Most go to VS beach ...about 45 mins away. The base is in the mid of nowhere so that's why not good cell service. We have Verizon and didn't have any problem.

Hi Stacie:
From what I have read in the 03xx forum, the training for SF has been backed up several weeks and months. There's a good group for training within that 03xx too. Read back through the older posts. There's some good things to learn.

While most MOS schools issue unaccompanied orders (the Marine cannot live off base), there are a few schools where a Marine would have "accompanied" orders. Typically those are for schools that are very long, and even then it's not guaranteed. It is a command decision and varies from school to school and command to command. The only way to know for sure is for your Marine to check with his command. Once training does begin, it's not that long.

It may be best to wait until he is stationed at his PDS. Best wishes to the both of you. It's tough going through these waiting times.
Thoughts and prayers,
