So sorry to hear about your grand daughter! My nephew was injured in Afghanistan , went through several surgeries and did not respond well , he has been medically discharged after a very long time.  Hopefully, her injuries are not permanent and she will be able to finish up with her MOS and off to do what her heart desires!

My Grandaughter is in Pensacola FL for her MOS last September, she injured her knee, had her Medboard papers sent to DC 3 months ago and hasn't heard yet what her status is!!! She really wanted to make a career in the Marines, anyone else with a or gone thru a situation like this?

Grandson Kipp graduates March 30th from Camp Pendleton (2141)- I will be there with his Dad and sister - can't wait.

My Grandson graduates tomorrow March 8th 2012 from his MOS training at Camp Pendleton. Then he will be leaving to go to Camp Lejeune, NC to join a unit there with the Assault Amphibious Vehicle team which he has been training for in his MOS. I live in San Diego and have enjoyed having him at Camp Pendleton and being able to visit him on weekends and taking him places since most weekends they have free time to do what they want. I will really miss having him here, tomorrow will be a sad day for me and grandpa.

Thanks..   Last night I received the 30 second call from him.. Hardly could understand him it was noisy and fast.. yet the last two words rang out to me "Love You, Bye"  I had good night sleep ... Now looking for the first letter/postcard to start writing him..

it's a long 3 months, your boy will change immensely.  No matter how fine of a young man he was when he went in, he will be even "finer" when he gets out! enjoy his leave when he comes home.  Our family was advised not to expect our grandson to write, they really have no "down" time while in basic, just keep praying for him!  God bless !

My Grandson left today for San Diego.  Waiting for the 30 second call.  Miss him already and counting the weeks till Graduation.
