My son was sent to MRP today, just 2 weeks away from graduation, for tendonitis of his knee.  I am heartsick!  I feel so bad for him.  Any suggestions to keep his morale up are appreciated!!!

So sorry to hear that Patara!  I'm sure he is broken over it too.  How long will he be down with it?  Did they move him to the MRP?
I would start writing encouraging letters right away.  He is gonna need that because he will be prone to get depressed and feel the need to give up and you want to counter that right away.  If they didn't give you a different address, just send them to the same address and they will get them to him.  Praying all goes well for your son in the healing process!

God Bless,

Missy

Was your son in Hotel Company 2005? My son was scheduled to graduate the same day.

My daughter is in FRP, sent there 2 days after she shipped. (Reaction to one of the shots she received) My son (a Marine) told us it's very important to send her letters that are positive and encouraging. He said that since the recruits are basically in a holding pattern, they can easily get depressed. I can't imagine what your son must be feeling. I have a sense of what you are feeling Patara, I kept thinking I lived through Josh's 13 weeks, I can deal with my "baby's" 13 weeks. Now I don't know how long it will be before we can see her. Hang in there! And get those letters out to your son (my son suggested starting a family rotation of letter writing to be sure she gets at least one a day). Good luck!

MamaG53, did you post about the allergy on another thread. I just commented on one about my other daughter

He was in Hotel Company 2000, they might know each other!

I'm not sure how long it will take to heal, i'm sure he has pushed himself and it must be pretty bad now.  I'm hoping with rest and therapy, it won't be more than 1 month.  thank you!!

Yes, Proud Rct Mom, I posted on the Female Recruit discussion. Didn't realize this thread existed until after I had already posted. Thanks! She is definitely not allergic to peanuts, or anything else she's ever been exposed to...hoping it was a very bad panic attack!

Pat's ma I hope you son heals quickly. Have you received the address to the MRP yet? If not I have the one for my son. I assume it would be the same since they were both in Hotel Company.

thank you, but he called me last night with it:)

Good. I'm glad you heard from him. I hope he is feeling better. Was it one of those scripted messages.

LOL, yes!  I did get in an I Love You though!
