Steve: Best of luck to your son, hope that hip heals up soon. Is he in SD or PI?  What is his MOS? My son is Infantry/0311. My wife and I just came back from California where we were able to see him, he had "a 96" - 4 days of liberty.  I am getting better at checking this MFN site.  All the best to you and your son!

Thanks, Longhorn.  My son is 5/12 done with boot.  Struggling with a hip problem, but otherwise doing OK.  I've learned a ton so I know what you mean.

Hey Steve: Welcome. My Marine son is the 2/1, Golf Company, stationed at Camp Pendleton. They will deploy with the 11th MEU in late July. And, you are so right, the moms/girlfriends talk up a storm!  Like most of the guys, I read more than I actually post. However, I found that the guys are very helpful when a question is asked.  I am so totally surprised how the women know so much more than the men about what's going on. How do they do it? . God bless our Marines!

Thanks.  I wasn't complaining, just observing.  I'm doing more on the Fox Company comment wall.  And I'm one of those who reads more than posts though I think I post more than most men.  I have my own business and it's a bit slow now so I have time.
