It is very frustrating ... I am writing him again tonite, explaining why he hasnt gotten a letter from Mom, hoping this one will get thru ... but I am goin to call his Recruiter tomorrow to be on the safe side.

Shelley5716 I would call your son's recruiter and see what the problem is.  How frustrating is that?  I'm so sorry.

okkkkk, so a letter I sent my son came back today ... said "undeliverable" ... what the heck??? I ck'd, and then re-ck'd, everything was right on the address ... I dont get it!

Yes I was blessed with this page it truly is a blessing and a life saver to have people to communicate with. I too am counting the days down it is 23 days until my son's graduation May 25,2012.

thank you all for these comments and for telling me how to add friends, I have been really down before I decided to just start commenting on here. It makes a huge difference knowing you are not alone while your loved one is in boot camp

No you cannot and should not send them money. They are being paid and they have a debit card.  As for their uniforms they pay for them out of a  uniform allowance that they receive.  Do not worry they are good to go.

My heart goes out to all the parents who now have a recruit!  At my sons graduation a little over a week ago I felt like I should have been wearing a t-shirt that stated "This mom survived Marine boot camp!"  Use this  forum - it is a life line!  

FYI - I am refining a parents MCRD San Diego graduation guide that I put together with lots of comments made on the forum throughout the last year or so. As soon as it is ready I'll add a post.
