Hello folks,

Please check out this link to vote for a Sgt. in the Marine Corps for American Hero of the Year. Deadline for voting is just a few days (Sept. 6) from now.  The Sgt. is one of five finalists for American Hero of the Year and the only Marine::

Thank you!

Iansdad - that's correct - the graduation program lists them that way (Our guys Mom found it) - thanks for the explanation Susan!

our guy, just at a quick glance, my guess would be that platoon 2060 is the 1st platoon of the follow series in Golf Company.

You may have noticed two letters that show up frequently on the matrix...L and F or Lead and Follow.

Here is a great explanation (from 1~Nanny) of the L and F on matrix:

Each company is split into Lead & Follow series.  For example if there are 6 platoons in a company, the first 3 platoons are Lead series and the last 3 are Follow series.  The reason for this split is because of company size, for example the entire company cannot fit into a classroom for schooling. If learning in a classroom, Lead series will take the morning and the Follow series will do the same thing in the afternoon or vice versa. Same thing with outdoor activities. Whatever Lead series completes in the morning, Follow series will complete in the afternoon or vice versa. They are usually assigned to platoons in the order in which they arrive.

Hope this helps,

They stay the same.  I don't know a magic way to find out if he's Lead or Follow (it truly doesn't matter) except to ask him.

Comment by our guy on June 3, 2014 at 6:13pm

yep, so we don't have a way to know if he is in a lead or follow group. Do they stay one or do they switch from time to time?

Comment by 1~alwaysf8hful (Pam) on June 3, 2014 at 6:09pm

Shooooot, I re-read your question.  T-3 and T-4 are obviously different days, so whatever one group does one day, they switch up on the next day.  Is THAT what you were wondering?

Comment by 1~alwaysf8hful (Pam) on June 3, 2014 at 6:07pm

Four platoons are in the "Lead" group while the other four are in the "Follow" group.  While the L group is getting their haircuts, the F group is doing something else.  Then the L group does something else while the F group gets their hair cuts.

Is that even what you were asking, our guy?

Comment by Lisa A.R. on June 3, 2014 at 5:52pm
It's still lead and follow. Which recruits are which get their haircuts on that day.
Comment by our guy on June 3, 2014 at 5:51pm

ON '''T3" it says haircuts "F" and on "T4" it says haircuts "L". I'm not sure how lead and follow would work there?
