Hi everyone,

Wondering if anyone has predeployment news that can be shared.

Comment by pshafe on June 10, 2012 at 12:35pm

Anyone know the schedule of when training picks up in July? My son was trying to come home for family wedding and now being told likely can't come due to training schedule. Trying to see if alternate dates for travel could be arranged. Would welcome any info and thanks in advance!

Michele, my son's MOS is 0341 Mortarman. No he didn't go to fleet. That's nice your boy (man) is home with you! Mine is trying to get leave at the end of next month. Pshafe, good to have you here!

Hi, my son joined 1st LAR last month. Sounds like he's busy escorting returning marines . Good to find this board!

Hi Cheryl! I thought that was you! Did your son go straight to fleet after SOI? What is his MOS? Mine is part of the LAV crewman. He is home this weekend for a 96 leave. So good to see him! We haven't seen him since he left 4 months ago for SOI.

Hi Michele! Nice to see a familiar face/name :)  My son has been placed on light duty due to some joint pain, and is waiting for an MRI. Lol... I have no idea what his job title is with 1st LAR. I think we need to talk more! All I know is that he and the other new guys to the unit have been cleaning and prepping for their returning brothers from deployment. Welcome home gentlemen!!
