I got a call also last night...It sure was good to hear his voice again.  I will not be there for homecoming either...so take a look at my photo and if you see him give him a big hug for me.  He is coming home for leave at the end of the month so I can smoother him then.

Got a call from my son last night.  He's happy to be back in the US and looking forward to Cali.  Our group seemed to poop out over time, but know they are all excited to have everyone back home soon.  If you see Cpl. R. from the Pearl anywhere, give him a hug too.  I'm going out in August for the move back to TX.  Thanks a lot!

Just a little shout out to all as we count down the last few days of this deployment.  Although a pretty quiet Group, I was comforted just knowing you were "here".  Best to everyone and CAN. NOT. WAIT. to give my son a {{{HUG}}}.

The Navy posted new pictures today on FB...they are currently in the Middle East.  If the Navy can put it on FB, I can put it on here for all of you.  They are certainly doing lots of training.  And yes, the Makin FRG is a very good group of everyone...Navy and Marines.  Join us.  My son loved Singapore...enjoyed the time there...as he said, we can have a big dinner on ship anytime...hahaha  Stayed at a hotel on the 33rd floor, the elevator was clear plastic on the outside of the hotel.  He loved it...better him than me!  lol

@ JLR315, We have been getting images from the pearl and the have been posted to the 11th MEU's web page. However, because of our current location, we have to route imagery through a few more channels to get it released for public consumption. These additional channels are a bit more strict about what they will and will not release. imagery posted to the web site and 11th MEU twitter page will slow down a bit, but it will still get out. as for what is actually coming from the pearl i can not speak on that matter because i am not in the loop on that subject, but i will see if i cant get an answer for you. i do know that one of the main focuses on the pearl is the Formal Corporals Course being conducted for several of the newer Cpls on the ship. i hope this helps, but i will see what i can find out about any other imagery coming from the Pearl Harbor.

Hello All!  I just wanted to pass on some information that you may not be aware of.  If you have a Facebook page, search MakinIsland Frg.  It is the Navys FRG, however they have included us Marine parents on the Parents page.  If you send them a message (FRG page) telling them who you are and who your Marine is on the ship, they will invite you to join the Parents of MKI Sailors and Marines (a closed group.)  The parents page has been a great support and wealth of information.

Just read the article on Makin Island FB page about where they are....

Hey, Photographer!  Any news about the photog on the Pearl.  Heard they changed out, but don't see much about them on the sites.  Just wondering ......
