Hi fellow marine family members,
I sent a package to my marine at Camp Kinser in Japan on Dec 10th. via USPS. The tracking shows it was "delivered to an Agent" at the FPO on Dec 29th. He still doesn't have his package. He informed me that he is not allowed to go to the post office and that someone authorized can only go. Since Dec 29th other marines in his company have received packages and envelopes but he has not gotten his. He just learned he'll be leaving this camp soon. I would really like for him to have this package. There is quite a few personal gifts in it for him I know he'll love. Not to mention the money it cost for all gifts and shipping. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Simpering Fi.
I cannot believe that he is not allowed to go collect his package. He needs to get this clarified with his NCOs.
It sounds to me like there is some confusion about the mail pick up process. Mail generally arrives at a central location on base and then each unit has a mail clerk who picks up and delivers the mail to individuals. The mail clerk must be officially appointed so that not just anybody can come grab the mail. However, since the package is actually addressed to your son to he should be able to go pick it up. He either needs to go over and actually talk to the folks at the post office or find out who his unit's mail clerk is and ask him/her to specifically look for the package.
